The pigs were the property of our daughter.  She got married in April 2018 and has had to get rid of her herd for the time being.  She sent them to a farm that rescues pigs and takes wonderful loving care of them.  She gets to go visit them whenever she misses them.

Heritage Guinea Hogs with Personality

Heritage breeds are traditional livestock breeds that have been around for generations.  Guinea hogs were bred for small farmsteads.  They are smaller than most hog breeds and they are bred to be friendly and easy to work with.  Our male boar is only 350 lbs.  Some breeds can get close to 1000 lbs.  

Pork Chop
Pork Chop is our breeding boar.  He is the father of all of the piglets on our farm right now.  He is gentle and friendly.  He loves to have his back scratched and he will follow us around the property just for the company.  

Pork Chop is in heaven!!  He found a pumpkin that weighs more than he does!
